Wow, what a year so far! Convinced we were losing our home and B and B three times during the fires over summer, certainly ruined Christmas and New Year for us and many others up and down the East coast, along with losing many bookings at our peak period... then just settling back into regular bookings once the area was safe again, and the Coronavirus issue hits us and we had to cancel all bookings for two months. 

Now, June, and we are allowed to welcome intrastate holidaymakers, happily in time for the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend. So we are happy to have bookings coming in again, and for the time being are blocking out an extra day either side of bookings to allow for extra airing and cleaning time, for our guests' peace of mind. Looking forward to welcoming you to Finchley and Little Finchley B and B's. Stay safe (and wash your hands!).

And so, we have now completed a full year as Finchley B&B, and what a year it has been, business-wise. A truly wonderful summer with almost every night booked up, many delightful guests and their pets, making some new friends along the way, and welcoming back several return visitors already! Thanks to everyone who has chosen to stay at Finchley, and we look forward to welcoming many more. The feedback provided along the way has all been 'taken on board' and responded to, and is always very welcome. Our Cavaliers have very much enjoyed making new friends as well: Louis in particular really enjoys welcoming new visitors and 'hanging out' with them where appropriate.

After a wonderful start, I was awarded a Super Host badge by Airbnb as a result of 10+ consecutive 5 star reviews from guests booking through them, which was rather lovely. Thanks, again, to those wonderful people who enjoyed their time here, and looking forward to welcoming many more.

I am delighted to report that as of last weekend, "Finchley" has currently received 10 consecutive 5 star reviews in the Airbnb booking site. Thanks to all those lovely people I have had the pleasure to host and who have taken the time to provide this valuable feedback as I have been getting the word ("Finchley") 'out there'. I have been so very fortunate in the people I have had to stay thus far, and Stayz and the Nowra Visitors Centre have also contributed to the great response I have received so far. And so, now early September, and we have had a number of visits - often with pets, and the feedback to date has been wonderful, I am so pleased! One couple and their dog are returning for the October Long weekend, which is lovely, they were excellent guests on their first stay. I have also had a longer term guest who has become a friend and we have enjoyed a number of outings together in that time.

We hosted our first official guests last weekend (June Long Weekend), a couple down from Sydney to escape the 'Big Smoke'! They were very nice people, and we couldn't have asked for a smoother launch into the hosting experience. I am now hoping and waiting to see their feedback on the airbnb website that they booked through, so Finchley can start to get some ratings and 'stars'. They had some lovely weather for their time here and enjoyed all that Finchley offers in the delighful views and peaceful environment. They were particularly keen to see the wallabies/kangaroos grazing nextdoor, and were not disappointed! I look forward to hosting more such agreeable people! Tomorrow, the Nowra Visitors' Centre contingency is coming here to see Finchley first-hand. I will be hoping to hear positive murmurings from between them as well!

The countdown has begun towards the official opening of Finchley B&B Wandandian. We have guests booked in for the June Long Weekend, so the final touches including some landscaping are rushing up to meet me head on at this stage! Some areas (externally) will remain a work in progress for a while with landscaping projects continually improving the features and facilities available to our guests over time. I hope you will share with me the fortunes of the newest B&B in the Shoalhaven region of NSW, and the only one in Wandandian at this time. I hope to share the delights of this region with many of my old friends, as well as many new ones who are travelling through from both Australia and overseas.
