
Finchley B&B Wandandian - pet-friendly
in the heart of the beautiful Shoalhaven region of NSW

Greetings, viewers! It's been a while since I shared an update on how we're faring, but we're still doing OK here. We expect things may be a bit quieter with the current global fuel issues, but we're still here for travellers and their pets.
For availability, before contacting us, to save time, I suggest if you can, refer to our Airbnb listings for(1) Finchley B and B, and (2) Little Finchley,
and check for your preferred dates.
Your canine hosts are currently two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Millie and Bobby, who love to get acquainted with our friendly canine guests. If you'd like to plan ahead with outings to beaches with your pet(s), we refer you to the Shoalhaven Council Dog Off-Leash site, which details all beaches in this area that permit dogs off-leash both 24/7 and within certain hours.
There is also a hard copy in the cottage if preferred, along with various other books and brochures containing information about our lovely region, and things to do.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Many thanks must go to Alex Moussawer, for the gorgeous view (he gave me permission to use in my advertising) of his dear little Yorkshire Terrier, 'Quint' one of our four-footed guests in January 2018. He has been very popular with guests looking at our photo galleries, and a number of more recent guests who have seen this view have taken photos of their own dogs on the swings (if the dogs would let them!).
It's been fun, and hopefully we will see some more of these yet!
Finchley B and B has now been operating for nearly eleven years, including our separate listing, Little Finchley, which is ideal for short or overnight stops, for one person or a couple, particularly for through travellers who just want a comfy bed, nice bath or shower and breakfast, before continuing on their journey or people who are out most of the day, attending local weddings, parties, or the Huskisson Triathlon (eg).
It is a very small unit, but includes breakfast provisions, a bar fridge, microwave and kettle, and works well
for those who don't need all the extra space and amenities of the larger unit.
NOTE: the two units interconnect where required, allowing for larger groups, by negotiation.
In respect for our guests' privacy, we no longer book both units out to different parties at the same time.
'Little Finchley' has proven to be a great success - in many respects, a scaled down version of the main cottage. Both the cottage (Finchley B and B), and the smaller unit (Little Finchley), are listed with Airbnb and Vrbo (HomeAway-Stayz). Little Finchley is not suitable for more than a single or couple with one or two pets, and does not have a kitchen - but some limited cooking amenities and bar fridge plus BBQ on its own deck.
We are located just two minutes from the Princes Highway in Wandandian, in the heart of the beautiful Shoalhaven-Jervis Bay region, on 1ha (2.5 acres) of lightly treed rural land with lovely views, and continue to receive many 5 star reviews with Airbnb, which has also yielded a 'Super Host' badge continuously for nine years now.
(1) The fully self-contained Finchley B&B cottage is adjacent to, but not overlooked by, our two-storey residence, and comprises two separate bedrooms, one with QS bed and one with a bunk bed (double base and single above), a shower room and separate toilet, 'pets' room' for bathing/grooming smaller dogs, sitting room with dining area and kitchen, plus a spacious North-facing deck with BBQ, seating, and dining table, at the front. As at April, 2026, our base rates for the main cottage commence at $200 per night (1 or 2 people, off-season,
Sun to Thurs), $220 per night (1 or 2 people, off-season, Fri and Sat), and from $35 per extra guest, per night.
There is a token added cleaning fee for guests with dogs, and guests are asked to guarantee pets, (as well as visiting friends, and children) are well behaved and house-trained! Finchley is 5 star customer-rated in Airbnb, ideal for a family of four/five,
two couples, or four adults, and a fold out sofa bed is available in the sitting room for an extra guest.
The entire property is fenced and secure, with also an enclosed rear yard to the main cottage.

(2) 'Little Finchley' is also self-contained, a very small, motel style version of the larger unit, suitable for a single guest or couple, and is positioned between the main cottage space and our private residence. It comprises separate bedroom (QS bed), compact sitting room equipped with TV, DVD player, DVDs, and while it does not have kitchen facilities, it does include a kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee plunger, small electric frypan, bar fridge and 'Continental' breakfast supplies, plus a full bathroom (NB: SHOWER OVER BATH). It includes its own spacious gated North-facing deck area with al fresco seating, BBQ and separate private entrance. plus a fully fenced grassed area where your pet can be outdoors beyond the deck, in a secure space. The rate for the smaller unit starts at $165 (low season mid-week rate) per night for one or two people, including breakfast supplies, and is ideal for a short stay or through-travellers just wanting a comfy stopover not far from the highway, in transit. It is also available as an extension to the main cottage, for a larger group.
Most of the property is available to our guests, and we have under-cover parking for one guest vehicle plus plenty of room to park extra vehicles, including caravans, boats etc.

Well-behaved pets welcome, subject to negotiation upon requesting booking, and must not be left in the units unsupervised. Owners are requested to clean up after their pets, and dispose of waste with doggy-do bags provided, these to be tied up and placed in the red lidded council bin/small green bin on verandah of main cottage. It is also requested that pets not be permitted bones or greasy food indoors or chewed on outdoor furniture, as this can be difficult to clean.
